We’ve definitely been aware of the ahi shortage here at Civil Beat, with our offices directly across from the Tamura’s on Waialae.
For a while, the store was selling previously-frozen ahi poke at the same $15/pound price its fresh varieties would sell for. Some days they wouldn’t have any ahi poke. Another customer said Marukai was selling ahi poke for $30 a pound one week.
