In a sign that he may be weighing a future political run, former Lt. Gov. Duke Aiona will reopen his private mediation, arbitration and consulting practice — JRA Inc. — in May “and start a new chapter in his distinguished career in public service.”

That’s from a press release Friday (April 6), as is this quote from Aiona:

I’m excited about this new opportunity to bring people together. I’ve been blessed to serve the people of Hawaii in different ways, and this is another challenge I’m looking forward to.

Aiona is stepping down from the position of executive vice president of development and recruitment at Saint Louis School that he took barely a year ago. The press release was emailed by Travis Taylor, who handled communications for Aiona’s unsuccessful 2010 bid for governor.
