A selective list of bills and briefings Thursday at the Capitol:

• Senate Water, Land and Housing will hold a briefing to hear from DLNR about the selection process for the Commission on Water Resource Management. It has been the matter of some controversy.

• That same committee will also consider the governor’s nominations to that same commission. Could be some fireworks.

• Senate Public Safety, Government Operations and Military affairs will consider the governor’s nomination of Dean Seki to be state comptroller;he’s already serving on an interim basis.

Note: It’s a “decking” day at the Ledge. If a bill isn’t heard and passed through its last committee referral, it’s dead … unless someone pulls the ol’ gut-n-replace during conference committee.

Rep. Jerry Chang and Sen. Donovan Dela Cruz.
