The governor has recommended three sitting Board of Education members for new three-year terms.
The Senate on Thursday confirmed the appointments of Keith Amemiya, Cheryl Lupenui and Nancy Budd.
The appointed board is a relatively new thing for Hawaii. Voters approved the change from an elected board to an appointed one in November 2010, but the governor’s first round of appointees was not confirmed until April 2011.
