Funny response from a prominent rail support group just now, a few minutes after HART announced it’s set to start heavy construction Monday. Here’s the entire press release:

Honolulu, HI—“Go Rail Go is celebrating the news that construction work on the foundations and pillars for the guideway is beginning. It’s about time. We are glad to be moving forward on this project that will bring relief to Oahu commuters and a better quality of life to people all along the 20-mile rail transit route. ‘Nuff already. Go Rail Go!” said Maeda Timson, president of Go Rail Go.

Always nice when you can close your quote with the name of your organization.

Sen. Dan Inouye‘s office just put out a press release of its own with comments from all four members of Hawaii’s congressional delegation. There’s no actually cheerleading a la “Go Rail Go!” but it’s pretty much the same thing.
