Mayor Peter Carlisle will be on personal leave starting tonight and will return to the office Monday, per a memo he sent to the Honolulu City Council yesterday.
Managing Director Doug Chin has the reins in the interim.
UPDATE: The mayor’s office said Friday that Carlisle was on the mainland to attend his son’s graduation from Coast Guard academy. He’ll be on active duty and serve on a Coast Guard cutter.
