The Honolulu Department of Planning and Permitting has reviewed Mayor Peter Carlisle‘s proposed capital improvement program budget for the next fiscal year and determined it’s compliant with the city’s planning documents.

It’s hardly a surprise, since DPP Director David Tanoue works for Carlisle. But the memo from Tanoue to Honolulu City Council Chair Ernie Martin Monday is interesting because it breaks things down, project by project.

Some are exempt from the Oahu General Plan or regional Development Plans, some are too small to be a problem, and some are deemed compliant.

I’ll dig into it later to see if there’s anything curious — inappropriate exemptions, for example. If you find something before I do, share it below in comments or on Twitter with a #becivil hashtag.
