Residents, surfers and beach-park users rallied earlier today in opposition to House Bill 2819 that would allow development on land that was recently turned over to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs by the state.

The parcels currently are restricted when it comes to residential development, but the bill would allow high rises on the oceanfront property.

KITV News covered the rally. Read all about it here.
