Teachers union negotiators will meet with the state’s team in roughly 24 hours to resume talks

“We look forward to negotiating a fair contract for our members,” HSTA President Wil Okabe told me in an email.

He and the negotiating teams aren’t expected to say much more once they’re back at the bargaining table together.

Let’s hope Hawaii’s educational leaders take a deep breath and smell the plumeria before working on finding enough common ground to resolve this dispute. There’s too much at stake to do otherwise.
