He posted a brief letter on the union’s website yesterday urging members to contact their lawmakers about the teacher evaluation bill. Okabe says he doesn’t want the state to take away collective bargaining rights.
The timing is crucial. The Legislature is down to the final few weeks of this session and HSTA is meeting with the administration today to resume negotiations over teacher contracts.
