The Environmental Protection Agency is seeking proposals for projects that “reduce land-based trash at the source, thus preventing trash from entering coastal runoff and becoming marine debris.”

There is $280,000 in funding available for EPA Region 9 projects – this includes coastal areas in Hawaii, California, the Pacific Territories of Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
