Silly season is upon us.
Nick Grube went down to the retired firefighters’ press conference yesterday, where they and their preferred mayoral candidate, Ben Cayetano, complained about mistreatment by the Honolulu Fire Department. The HFD and the firefighters union dispute that charge.
It doesn’t really fit into any larger issue other than support from organized labor. But it is a goofy little episode on the campaign trail that offers a window in the state of things two months before the election.
