The Hawaii Department of Education will be presenting its recommendation to the board Tuesday on how to cover a multi-million-dollar shortfall for school bus services next year.
The board’s Finance and Infrastructure Committee is making this discussion the primary focus of its meeting.
The Legislature kicked in a couple million dollars more than the department thought it was going to get, but still $17 million less than it claims is needed to get students to and from school.
