Judicial Panel Names Hawaii Court Nominees

The Judicial Selection Commission on Friday (May 11) announced two lists of nominees for judicial positions recently vacated by the mandatory retirement of Circuit Court Judge Shackley F. Raffetto and the impending mandatory retirement of Associate Justice James E. Duffy, Jr.

The nominees for the judicial vacancy of the high court are:

Derrick H.M. Chan, Daniel R. Foley, David M. Forman, Craig H. Nakamura and Richard W. Pollack

The nominees for the judicial vacancy of Maui Circuit Court are:

Peter T. Cahill, Michelle L. Drewyer, Kelsey T. Kawano, Lloyd A. Poelman and Douglas J. Sameshima

Gov. Neil Abercrombie has 30 days from receipt of the lists to make his appointments.
