On May 10, Mayor Peter Carlisle appointed Steven Lim to the Honolulu Planning Commission. Lim would take over for Karin Holma, and would get a five-year term starting June 30 if he’s confirmed by the City Council.
Lim’s a partner for the Carlsmith Ball law firm, which has been retained by the city to fight lawsuits against the rail project.
In the nomination form attached to the appointment paperwork, Lim notes that his firm provided legal services to the city in the approximate amount of $1,054,000 in the last five years.
In February, another attorney for another firm representing the city in rail litigation hosted a fundraiser for Carlisle at his home.
