Hawaii teachers have voted two-to-one in favor of the same contract they shot down in January.
A message from HSTA President Wil Okabe to “colleagues” does not say how many union members voted this time around on the contract that the governor claims no longer has legal standing.
Okabe says he plans to inform the governor, board chair and superintendent of the results, along with U.S. Ed Secretary Arne Duncan.
“Just as teachers reconsidered their position, we are now asking the Governor to reconsider his,” Okabe wrote.
