Three Hawaii beaches on Dr. Beach top 10 list

Hawaii is home to three of the country’s 10 best beaches. But the top honors this year went to Coronado Beach in San Diego, says Florida International Universityprofessor and coastal expert Stephen P. Leatherman, aka “Dr. Beach.”

Kahanamoku Beach in Waikiki was No. 2 on the 2012 list, while Hamoa Beach on Maui was No. 5 and Waimanalo Bay Beach Park on Oahu was No. 7.
