Six Hawaii public schools and two private schools were recognized in the Washington Post’s “2012 High School Challenge Index” for effectively preparing students for college success.

Representing the Aloha State are: Kalaheo, Campbell, Kalani, Mililani, Maui and King Kekaulike public high schools; and Punahou and Mid-Pacific Institute private schools.

“The rating can reveal the level of a high school’s commitment to preparing students for college,” the newspaper reported
