“VETPAC is excited to endorse such a dynamic servant to our country,” VETPAC board member Jan Donatelli said in a press release. “The United States of America needs more Tulsi Gabbards in Congress— veterans who are attentive to their districts and who understand that our country needs to come together in this divisive time.”
The endorsement not a shock — Gabbard served in Iraq, and commercials paid for by another veterans group, VoteVets.org, helped her build name recognition and make up a 45-point deficit against Mufi Hannemann. Records show VoteVets spent about $140,000 backing Gabbard.
VETPAC said it donated $1,000 to Gabbard’s campaign and is considering additional contributions and independent expenditures on her behalf.
