Gov. Neil Abercrombie on Tuesday (June 19) signed into law Senate Bill 2115, which replaces the chapter governing charter schools based on task force recommendations.

He also signed six other education-related measures and accepted a first-year report from the appointed Board of Education.

Press release statement:

One of the most notable changes was the BOE’s adoption of policies for teacher and principal evaluations that include student performance measurements and future changes to tenure, as well as improved professional support.
