This press release comes from the Hawaii Republican Party in response to  Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa‘s decision Thursday (June 28) “to walk off the floor and skip voting on the contempt of congress action against Attorney General Eric Holder.”

Missed yesterday, with all of the focus on the Supreme Court’s decision on healthcare, was Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa’s decision to walk off the floor of the House and skip voting on the contempt of Congress action against Attorney General Eric Holder. While people may disagree on the merits of holding the Attorney General in contempt, intentionally deciding to skip an important vote is simply irresponsible. Hawaii deserves better. If Hanabusa wants skip out on doing her job, we encourage the voters of Hawaii to help Hanabusa by voting for a new representative who actually wants to work for Hawaii in Congress.
