Not surprised to see this particular debate continue to live on.

As Capitol Watch reports:

Mazie Hirono’s campaign is reminding voters that, “During two weeks of debating Hirono and (Ed) Case fielded more than 40 questions on a range of issues — from job creation and growing Hawaii’s tourism economy to the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, from Native Hawaiian concerns to protecting Medicare and Social Security.”

She’s posted a nine-minute clip (complete with soundtrack) on her website that highlights her best moments in the debates. It also arguably portrays Case in a less-favorable light.

“The choice is clear,” according to the video. (Hirono also post links to the full debates.)

Earlier this week, meantime, the Case campaign sent links to three of the four debates (there’s no link to the Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association forum) and a link to a Maui News editorial titled “A clear choice for senator.” You can probably guess the answer.

Case also issued this statement:

Besides failing to lay out her own record and agenda, my opponent made a number of false and misleading claims on mine. … We can expect attack ads and other full-on negative campaigning very soon.

Most unfortunately, these are the last scheduled joint appearances she agreed to, after rejecting many others including four statewide televised real debates on the regular stations. …
