The left-leaning New York Times has an editorial running Monday (June 18) commenting on Linda Lingle‘s digital cable channel.

Excerpt:

Her campaign says this is an American electoral first — a candidate with her own channel — though viewers expecting creative programming are going to be disappointed. Visitors to Channel 110 will be able to see one recurring campaign video and then pick from a dozen other short on-demand videos, some also on the candidate’s Web site, Lingle2012.com. They show Ms. Lingle sharing her views in a low-key and often nebulous manner. She explains that she is a good listener and wants to become the nation’s “point person” on tourism and to relieve the cruise-ship industry of burdensome environmental regulations.

An aide said the channel may add other things, like footage from debates and speeches, but beyond that, who knows? Given the mildness of what we’ve seen, we would suggest that she try historical re-enactments, real-crime cop videos or musical guests.
