Richard Pollack is Gov. Neil Abercrombie’s nominee to the Hawaii Supreme Court.
Capitol Watch reports:
Pollack, 61, is an Oahu circuit court judge appointed by Gov. Ben Cayetano who previously served as state public defender for 13 years.
The nomination now goes to the state Senate for confirmation.
If approved, Pollack will replace Jim Duffy Jr., who retired May 31 because state law requires justices to retire by age 70. Duffy turned 70 on June 4.
