The CIP money was identified and approved by the state Legislature.
They projects include $5.5 million for Honoapiilani Highway, Launiupoko, Maui, design and construction funds for roadway emergency erosion repairs; $14 million for Hilo International Airport, additional construction for a new cargo facility building; and $8.5 million for the Pier 2 Terminal, Kawaihae Harbor, construction funds for improvements including paving approximately 3.1 acres of unimproved land to provide additional cargo space, as well as various infrastructure improvements such as lighting, fire protection and drainage.
