Mayor Peter Carlisle has scheduled the sixth fundraiser of his re-election campaign tonight. It’s at the Portlock home of campaign chair Cha Thompson, and he’s asking for $500 a head, according to a filing with the Campaign Spending Commission.

Carlisle was far behind in fundraising in the first half of the year, pulling in about $198,000 to $511,000 for Kirk Caldwell and $893,000 for Ben Cayetano. Carlisle’s campaign explained that he’s a full-time mayor while his opponents are full-time candidates, so they have more time to go around asking for cash.

Caldwell’s already held seven fundraisers this election cycle. Cayetano has held two. Notices are only required for fundraisers where attendees are asked to contribute more than $25 apiece, so it’s possible all candidates have held numerous smaller gatherings to solicit donations.

Carlisle’s eighth fundraiser is scheduled for Aug. 1. The primary election is Aug. 11.
