Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation Executive Direct Dan Grabauskas has scheduled a news conference today to talk about the agency’s PR spending.

This has been a hot-button issue of late, as Honolulu City Council members have continually grilled Grabauskas about the taxpayer money that’s been being dished out for public outreach.

Council members have pushed for an audit of PR spending on rail as well as criticized the tactics of some contractors who appear to have been taking part in political lobbying.

Not sure yet what Grabauskas plans to say, but with all the recent scrutiny it wouldn’t be surprising to see some contracts nixed.
