The U.S. House of Representatives voted 414-2 on a bill Wednesday (July 18) that would “give the Obama administration 30 days to provide details on how it will deal with a required $109 billion cut to 2013 spending, which the administration must impose under last year’s debt-ceiling agreement.”

Excerpt from The Hill:

Under the sequester, the Office of Management and Budget must by Jan. 2 cut $109 billion from 2013 mandatory and discretionary spending accounts unless Congress provides a different plan.

Mazie Hirono was among 15 representatives who did not vote on the Sequestration Transparency Act of 2012Colleen Hanabusa voted with the majority.

Hirono also did not vote on Tuesday (July 17) on the Insular Areas Act of 2011 and the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Year 2013. Hanabusa supported both measures, which passed.

Civil Beat’s inquiry to the Hirono campaign was not immediately returned.
