Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle might need some cover-up for his debate on PBS tonight.

Nick Grube reports for Inside Honolulu:

Early this morning, Carlisle woke from a dream and smacked his chin on his nightstand, opening up a gash that he said bled profusely.

Carlisle now has three stitches and a large white bandage on his face that looks like a new goatee.

In an interview this morning, Carlisle told Civil Beat he won’t wear the gauze while on camera.

That’s where the cover-up comes in.

Carlisle will appear at 8 p.m. on Insights on Hawaii on PBS along with mayoral candidates Ben Cayetano and Kirk Caldwell for a moderated discussion with Dan Boylan.
