Tammy Duckworth lost both legs when her helicopter was shot down in 2004, but her opponent in the race to represent Illinois in Congress says she’s overly focused on her military service.

“Now I’m running against a woman who, my God, that’s all she talks about,” Rep. Joe Walsh said, according to NBC Chicago. “Our true heroes, it’s the last thing in the world they talk about. That’s why we’re so indebted and in awe of what they’ve done.”

Duckworth is a McKinley High School and University of Hawaii grad.
