Senate District 25 Democratic Candidates: Senate District 25 includes the East Oahu neighborhoods of Hawaii Kai, Waimanalo and Kailua. Incumbent senator Pohai Ryan and challengers Levani Lipton and Laura Thielen are scheduled to appear. The winner of this primary will face veteran Republican legislator Fred Hemmings in the general election, as he attempts to win back the District 25 seat.

Political Advertising: Kathleen Hall Jamieson, a leading expert on political communication and campaign advertising, joins Boylan in-studio for the program’s second half. Jamieson is Professor of Communication and Director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania. Annenberg runs FactCheck, a non-profit that examines the accuracy of factual claims in US political campaign advertisements.
