The University of Hawaii has partnered with Cornell University to help NASA figure out how to keep astronauts fed and in good spirits during a long stay in space.

MSNBC’s Cosmic Log reported Friday that researchers have selected six “gastronauts” who will put outer-space menus to the test next year during a four-month simulated Mars mission conducted on a barren lava field in Hawaii.
