Press release from Dan, Dan, Mazie and Colleen:

Hawaii will receive $3.75 million to refurbish the parking lot at Haleakala National Park and repair a taxiway at the Honolulu International Airport. …

The money comes from two grants administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The first grant provides $2 million to rehabilitate, recycle, and repave the deteriorating asphalt pavement and to improve disabled accessibility for seven parking lots along the Haleakala Highway in the summit area of Haleakala National Park on Maui.

The parking lots provide access to the park’s trails, visitor centers, campgrounds, and scenic overlooks.

The second grant funds a $1.75 million design study for the repair of taxiway Z at the Honolulu International Airport.
