The Case for Senate election headquarters is filled with supporters and campaign members who are enjoying local food and a Hawaiian band.

Ed Case and his wife Audrey briefly interrupted the festivities at 7:20 p.m. to thank his supporters for their help throughout the campaign.

“We’re excited,” said Sarah Kaopuiki, Case’s campaign coordinator.  “Your poll shows that the momentum is swinging our way.”

Kaopuki acknowledged that the first printout may not reflect the demographics that are Case’s strongest supporters.  Mazie Hirono’s incumbent status makes her more likely to receive support from absentee voters.

“It will be close,” Kaopuki said.  “But it’s only the beginning.”

One things for sure — the band will be playing all night.
