That’s bad news for incumbent Mayor Peter Carlisle and former Honolulu Managing Director Kirk Caldwell.
But as Civil Beat Reporter Michael Levine notes, if Cayetano doesn’t get more than 50 percent on Aug. 11 it looks like Carlisle and Caldwell’s support could combine in a general election.
At that point it’s just a matter of who gets the nod to move forward to November. Right now it shows that Caldwell has the slight edge over Carlisle.
