There will be no formal challenge of election result declaring Sen. Malama Solomon as the winner in the primary race for the 4th district. Former Big Island mayor and state legislator Lorraine Inouye lost the race by 69 votes. In the days immediately after the primary, Inouye said she was looking into potential voting irregularities

In the end, Inouye decided not to file a formal protest and conceded the race.

In case you missed it yesterday, KITV has a wrap-up:

“I tried to reach Sen. Malama Solomon this afternoon to offer her my congratulations on her win. She has been very gracious in refraining from talking to the media while I addressed my concerns over the electoral process for this primary election.  I offer my support for her candidacy in the General Election,” said Inouye.
