Workers in the hospitality sector of Honolulu’s tourism industry earn the third-highest wages among major U.S. markets, behind only Las Vegas and New York City, according to an analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data.

Honolulu’s hotel and restaurant workers earn an average of $21,600 per year, ranking the market above San Francisco, Anchorage, Alaska, and Washington, D.C., among others, according to the analysis by Pacific Business News affiliate On Numbers.
