Pine just sent out a press release calling for her opponent, Tom Berg, to resign. She cited Berg’s recent outburst during a council committee meeting and his subsequent punishment as the reasons for him to give up his post.
“Mr. Berg’s erratic behavior has caused West Oahu to have no Representation on the committees that affect our District the most,” said Rep. Pine. “He is a failure and an embarrassment to all of us that live on the Leeward Coast. Berg must resign because of his actions on and off the Council.”
The race for District 1 has been hotly contested. Berg had four challengers in Saturday’s primary. Pine was the top vote-getter, pulling down 33.7 percent of the vote. Berg came in second with 27.2 percent.
They both will move on to the Nov. 6 election unless, of course, Berg heeds Pine’s call.
