Education groups are touting a new poll that shows the vast majority of the public considers preschool valuable in preparing children to succeed in school.

Good Beginnings Allicance and the Be My Voice Hawaii Leadership Council are going to reveal the new poll data and other key plans Thursday morning.

“We’re encouraged by these results — the community recognizes the importance preschool plays in the long-term success of our children. The opportunity before us this election cycle, and in the upcoming session, is to focus on early childhood education in our state — and begin supporting a comprehensive plan for preschool for all 4-year-olds,” said Deb Zysman, GBA executive director.
