Former Hawaii Gov. Ben Cayetano unveiled his comprehensive transportation plan for Honolulu on Thursday.

It’s called FAST, which stands for “flexible, affordable, smart transportation.”

Although, bus rapid transit is a major component there are other aspects that the Honolulu mayoral candidate hope will ease traffic congestion on Oahu.

Cayetano doesn’t like the city’s plan to build a $5.26 billion rail system, and has vowed to kill the project if elected in November.

Check out Civil Beat reporter Chad Blair’s coverage on Cayetano’s  alternative here. Thanks, Chad!
