After some false starts for Honolulu’s 311 smartphone app — including some residents abusing it to annoy their neighbors — here’s a new, clever use.
Our Landblog reports:
Hear a coqui frog? If so, the Oahu Invasive Species Council wants you to report it via the Honolulu 311 smartphone app.
The council has organized a “Go out and listen night,” and is asking Oahu residents to go outdoors for 15 minutes on Wednesday, September 12, between 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m and report their findings.
Coqui frogs, not the most quiet of frogs, have invaded the Big Island and Maui, and while there have been sitings on Oahu, officials have worked to keep them off the island.
