The Board of Education will publicly discuss the state auditor’s recent report slamming the school bus program for wasting millions of dollars through inefficiencies and lack of competitive bidding for contracts.

The chair said it was put on the agenda last week as an executive session item because the report was still in draft form. It will be discussed in the open today because the report is now public.

Board member Brian Delima is serving as chair today in Don Horner’s absence. Supt. Kathryn Matayoshi is also not present.

We’ll see how this afternoon’s meeting goes. Look for a full report on Civil Beat’s website later today.
