If so, check out this story from Civil Beat Reporter Chad Blair, who caught up with Honolulu mayoral candidates Ben Cayetano and Kirk Caldwell as they spoke to high school journalism students.
Aside from both candidates saying there should be more public scrutiny of the city’s $5.26 billion rail project, Cayetano and Caldwell also revealed a bit more about their political stances on other infrastructure issues.
One point of contention between the two has to do with a recent business ban at Kailua and Kalama beach parks. Caldwell isn’t a fan, while the former governor doesn’t mind keeping Kailua beach “for local use.”
