The U.S. Supreme Court will hear a key case Wednesday that has high stakes for higher education.

Two of the nation’s top academics penned a column published in the L.A. Times that explains the value of educational diversity and why American universities should preserve the consideration of race in admissions. 

The surest way to dissolve this identity threat and the damage it imposes on the achievements and contributions made by minorities is for the minority to achieve critical mass, diminishing the risk of marginalization.
