The Hawaii Public Utilities Commission is holding public meetings on the Big Island about proposed changes that will increase electricity rates. 

The meetings will cover a request by HELCO to raise rates, a surcharge that will cover premiums for biofuel and the Aina Koa Pono contract for biofuel.
