Tsunami Warning Issued for Hawaiian Islands

A tsunami warning is in effect for the Hawaiian Islands and authorities are asking people in coastal areas to evacuate. If you’re not in an inundation zone, you are being asked to stay off the roads. Check the phone book under disaster preparedness to find out if you are in an evacuation area.

The wave was expected to hit Hawaii at 10:28 p.m. A wave that hit Alaska earlier Saturday evening was 4 inches instead of the anticipated 1 foot.
