Despite the warning signs, there are plenty of people getting stung.

Here’s the latest from the city of Honolulu’s Dept. of Emergency Services:

Waikiki reports 145 stings, 118 jellyfish counted.

Ala Moana reports 0 stings, 15 jellyfish counted.

Lifeguards are well stocked with vinegar to blunt the sting, heat packs to help with the venom and cold packs to help with the pain.

“Typically box jellyfish come in 3 days. It started yesterday, today’s the peak day,” said Shayne Enright, spokeswoman for emergency services. “By Saturday it should be pretty much all gone.”
