After weeks of recess while members ran for re-election back in their districts, Congress is back in session Tuesday.

The House of Representatives will meet for business at 2 p.m., with first votes set for 6:30 p.m.

It’s the start of the so-called “lame duck” session for the 112th Congress that will attempt to address timely issues like the fiscal cliff before new members are sworn in early in January.

Those new members begin their orientation Wednesday.
