The Hawaii Elections Office emerged from an hour-long executive session this afternoon to announce its decision on how to address the state’s general election fiasco, which involved running out of ballots at 51 precincts Nov. 6.

Some had called for heads to roll, namely election chief Scott Nago’s.

Instead, the commission decided to create a two-person subcommittee to further investigate the matter. The committee’s report — to include “all pertinent facts” — is due the first week of January.
