The statewide vehicle registration and motor vehicle computer system wouldn’t work this afternoon, making it impossible for county DMVs across the state to process any applications for licenses or vehicle registrations.
Honolulu officials now report that “Technicians have diagnosed a hardware problem with the computer system that handles motor vehicle registrations and similar transactions, and have arranged for delivery of a replacement part tonight.”
They expect repairs to be finished before the start of business on Monday morning.
